Schumer, a Democrat from New York, said no one should “call for harassment of political opponents,” adding that it’s “not right,” according to Politico reporter Burgess Everett.

Schumer’s comments come after Waters called for the harassment and intimidation of members of Trump’s cabinet in a heated Saturday speech, saying if “you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. Tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere!”

Waters’s comments come after multiple members of the Trump administration, including White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen, have been forced out of restaurants by people upset over the separation of migrant children from their families.

Waters has yet to apologize for the comments and has continued to run her impeachment campaign against President Donald Trump.
