John Kasich Is Trying To Raise Money Off Of The Migrant Crisis

Ohio Republican Gov. John Kasich’s old presidential super PAC is using a picture of children being separated from their families at the border in order to raise money.

“Is this the image of America we want the world to see?” the ad reads on top of an image of a toddler crying as an official talks to the adult standing next to her. In the upper left-hand corner of the advertisement is a link to donate to the Kasich for America PAC.

“Separating children from their parents is just wrong. Take action now. Make your voice heard today,” the link to donate says.

Kasich hasn’t ruled out a 2020 presidential run against President Donald Trump, which may be why his PAC has been active on the immigration issue. “All of my options are on the table,” Kasich told POLITICO in March when asked if he would run as an independent against Trump.

Kasich has been a vocal opponent of separating children from their families at the border. “Our country is tearing kids from their moms and dads. I can’t believe it. Can you imagine it happening to your family?” the Ohio governor tweeted on Monday morning.
