Man Has An Axe To Grind — Sues Fox News Over Crazy Axe Throwing Stunt Gone Wrong

A West Point drummer filed a negligence lawsuit on Tuesday against Fox & Friends co-host Pete Hegseth, Fox News and various other defendants stemming back from a 2015 axe-throwing incident, The Washington Times reported Thursday.
Jeff Prosperie was performing in West Point’s Hellcats band when he was struck by an axe that Hegseth threw during a live taping of a segment for Fox & Friends in New York City. Hegseth was attempting to throw an axe at a target but overthrew, missing the mark and hitting Prosperie in the arm instead, according to The Washington Times.
Attorneys representing Prosperie filed the lawsuit in the New York Supreme Court alleging the defendants were “negligent, wanton, reckless and careless” by organizing an axe-throwing demonstration without any prior training and in close proximity to pedestrians, reported The Hill. Consequently, Prosperie suffered severe injuries leaving him with “permanent effects of pain, disability, disfigurement and loss of body function.”
“The incident involving Jeff Prosperie from 2015 was unfortunate and completely unintentional. Fox News immediately apologized to Prosperie and offered medical assistance, which he declined saying he was ‘okay,'” Fox wrote in a statement. “The network also offered compensation, which he declined as well. We have not heard from Prosperie since 2015, so the lawsuit is surprising and we are reviewing it.”
