Republicans are outperforming Democrats in fundraising and polls amid a week of defending both MS-13 and Hamas.
Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi defended members of gang MS-13 on Thursday, claiming they are not “animals,” stating they are “God’s children.” MS-13 is known for violent behavior, like stabbing a 15-year-old boy to death, stabbing a man over a hundred times and decapitated him, and following the motto “kill, rape, control” to intimidate communities.
Pelosi’s comment is in response to President Donald Trump’s claim that the MS-13 members who enter the country illegally are “animals.” (RELATED: White House Trolls Media Over MS-13 ‘Animals’)
The president stood his ground after Pelosi’s response, saying that the former speaker was “radical” at the Susan B. Anthony List gala Tuesday night. “She wants them to be treated with respect, as do other Democrats. That’s not going to be happening,” the president said.
Meanwhile, Vermont senator and former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders said the State of Israel was not justified in “firing on unarmed protesters” at the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem on May 14. What Sanders failed to mention was that the “unarmed” protesters were part of and led by Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist group whose charter specifically calls for the killing of Jews.
The Vermont senator and 12 other prominent Democrats, including Sens. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Dianne Feinstein of California, proposed that the U.S. resume funding the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) on May 16. UNRWA money helps fund Hamas-run schools that teach anti-Semitic propaganda to children.
For the first time in 2018, Republicans are leading Democrats in a Reuters midterm poll. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is also taking a major hit: It only raised $7.9 million in April compared to the Republican National Committee’s $13 million, according to an RNC spokesman.
The DNC is also strapped for cash. It only has $8.7 million and is $5.3 million in debt. The RNC has zero debt and $43.8 million cash on hand, according to the same RNC spokesperson.
“Democrats are obstructing at every turn, and their party is entering the midterms without a positive message,” RNC spokesman Steve Guest told the DCNF.
