BREAKING: Reported Active Shooter In Panama City Florida

Police are reportedly responding to an active shooter situation in Panama City Beach, Fla.

The scene is in the 2300 block of Beck Avenue. A witnesses told WJHG they heard at least 50 gunshots.

Several police units and a SWAT team are reportedly in the area, according to WJHG. (RELATED: 10 Dead, 10 Wounded In Shooting At Texas High School, Sheriff Confirms)

Walton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed they are helping the Bay County Sheriff’s Office with “an ongoing incident” in connection to a suspicious death in Santa Rosa Beach from earlier Tuesday morning, Fox 13 reported.

Authorities are reportedly focusing on an apartment complex not far from where the gunfire was heard.

From Panama City Police Department:
Students who live in the Beck Avenue and 23rd Street area and ride a school bus will NOT be bused home today due to the barricaded suspect situation. Parents will need to pick up their children from school.
