Former FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) director James Comey’s new book, “A Higher Loytaly: Truth, Lies and, Leadership,” didn’t provide any fresh revelations and doesn’t change anything for President Donald Trump, “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace said.

“What you get is Comey’s opinions. He doesn’t like Donald Trump, and he’s offended by Donald Trump, and he thinks Donald Trump is a bad guy, and yes, he does compare him to a mob boss,” Wallace said on “America’s Newsroom” Friday.

“But you know, in terms of real damage, people talk about bombshells — all of that is going to be like Fire And Fury, the Michael Wolff book. It’ll be like a fourth of July sparkler that burns bright for a week and then just peters out.”

“It’s not flattering to the president, but it doesn’t seem to me that — you know, opinions or comparisons or rhetoric isn’t going to hurt the president. Facts will. And there aren’t a lot of new facts in this book,” Wallace continued. “I suspect this book will disappear within a week.”

The book doesn’t present any new evidence of Trump committing a crime and doesn’t discuss any illegal activity on the Trump administration’s part, Wallace said.

“It seems to me that the real story in this book is that there is no new hard evidence of any crime, of anything illegal, and it doesn’t really change the equation on President Trump,” Wallace concluded. “What he ought to do is help the book disappear as quickly as possible, and the best thing to do from his point of view would be to ignore it.”
