Luke Rosiak Roasts Democrats For Negligence Over Imran Awan IT Scandal

The Daily Caller News Foundation reporter Luke Rosiak slammed Democrats for the negligence they displayed with the Imran Awan IT scandal and blamed the Left for failing to properly vet their staff.

“The Democrats really have no room to talk about cyber meddling and Russia without addressing the deeply disturbing relationship with [Awan],” Rosiak said Tuesday on “Fox & Friends.”

“After [Awan] started working for Wasserman Schultz, a number of Democrats hired his whole family. And the House inspector general determined shortly before the 2016 election that he made unauthorized access to data. He was actually impersonating Congressmen and funneling data off the House network.”

“He was even logging into the servers of members who had previously fired him and who he never worked for at all. So this is huge deal,” he added “This is a hack on Congress.”

“You would do more vetting when you hire a babysitter than the Democrats did when they decided to hire Pakistani citizens and give them access to all their data and emails for one in five House Democrats including three members of the intelligence committee,” Rosiak continued. “If they would have done a background check, there’s no way that these guys would’ve passed.”

A simple background check would have uncovered major red flags and could’ve prevented the scandal entirely, Rosiak thinks.

“They didn’t vet them. They exempted them from the background checks. They paid them four times more than any other I.T. Guys,” Rosiak concluded. “When the IG determined in September of 2016 that these guys hacked Congress, they left them on the network anyway through the election. And as you mentioned, it gets even worse with Wasserman Schultz; because finally in February of 2017, the capitol police had enough and they banned them. Wasserman Schultz still didn’t fire this guy.”

Editor’s Note: The Daily Caller, Inc., the Daily Caller News Foundation, and Luke Rosiak have settled a defamation lawsuit brought by Imran Awan, Abid Awan, Jamal Awan, Tina Alvi, and Rao Abbas (“the Plaintiffs”), in the D.C. Superior Court, Awan et al. v. The Daily Caller, Inc. et al., No. 2020 CA 000652 B (D.C. Super.) (“The Lawsuit”).

The Plaintiffs filed the Lawsuit in 2020, alleging that they were defamed by statements made by The Daily Caller entities and Mr. Rosiak, including statements in Obstruction of Justice, a 2019 book authored by Mr. Rosiak and published by Regnery Publishing, a business of Salem Media Group, Inc., about the Plaintiffs’ work for the U.S. House of Representatives. In response, The Daily Caller entities and Mr. Rosiak each denied liability and contested the Plaintiffs’ claims.

None of the Defendants has admitted to any fault as part of this settlement. Nevertheless, The Daily Caller entities and Mr. Rosiak recognize that no charges have ever been filed against the Plaintiffs relating to their congressional IT work.
