California students are organizing an anti-abortion protest after their teacher was suspended for her comments on the recent nationwide student walkout for gun control.

Students at Rocklin High School in Rocklin, Calif., are asking the school’s administration to approve of a pro-life “national school walkout” on April 11. Officials placed teacher Julianne Benzel on administrative leave after she made comments about a double standard between gun control and abortion protests.

Brandon Gillespie, a student who has been leading the organizing effort, told CBN News he wants to “honor all the lives of the millions of aborted babies every year” with the protest. Gillespie and other students are organizing using a hashtag, #LIFE, on social media.

“If schools, not only just our school and our administration, but across the country are going to allow one group of students to get up during class and walk out to protest one issue, would they still give the same courtesy to another group of students who wanted to protest … abortion?” Benzel said in a TV appearance on “Fox & Friends.”

Gillespie was inspired by Benzel to create this protest and will meet with the principal Friday to discuss the protest.
