Americans will end up spending nearly $6 billion on St. Patrick’s Day festivities this year, according to a National Retail Foundation survey cited by Fox News.

The report states 149 million consumers will shell out a record setting $5.9 billion, eclipsing 2017’s record of $5.3 billion, according to Fox News.

“The holiday falls on a Saturday this year, so Americans will have more time to splurge a little as they get together with friends and loved ones for a day of festivities,” NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay told Fox.

The NRF report also said 31 percent of consumers will be hosting some kind of St. Patrick’s Day dinner, while around 27 percent will be celebrating at a bar or restaurant,” Fox News reported.
