#MeToo Lawmaker Asked Staffers To Play ‘Spin The Bottle’

A female California Democrat lawmaker already facing multiple sexual harassment allegations has also been accused of pressuring staffers to play “Spin the Bottle,” according to a Sunday report.
A former staffer,David John Kernick, filed a formal complaint against California Assemblywoman Christina Garcia, alleging that he got fired because he questioned whether it was appropriate for staffers to be engaging in such activity, reports Politico.
According to Kernick, Garcia suggested the game to staffers in 2014 after they all had been drinking. The group included Kernick, who worked with Garcia for about 5 months, a handful of female staffers and a man.
Staffers ultimately ignored the suggestion, Kernick said, adding that he felt it was “definitely uncomfortable.”
“But I realized it’s different for a man than for a woman. … You know it’s inappropriate, but at the same time you may wonder, ‘How many women do you work for that act like that?'” Kernick told Politico.
Garcia is currently on a leave of absence after another former staffer alleged she groped his buttocks during a baseball game. Garcia denied the claims, but Daniel Fierro, the former legislative staff member, recalled that the assemblywoman also tried to grab his genitalia.
Another man came forward anonymously to claim Garcia drunkenly vowed to him that she was going to “fuck him.”

“I am confident I have consistently treated my staff fairly and respectfully. In a fast-paced legislative office, not everyone is the right fit for every position, and I do understand how a normal employment decision could be misinterpreted by the individual involved in that decision,” Garcia wrote in a Facebook post about the allegations.
The assemblywoman did not return request for additional comment in time for publication.
