President Donald Trump called the newly discovered texts exchanged by FBI agent Peter Strzok and bureau attorney Lisa Page “bombshells,” hours after they were released Wednesday.
The texts between Strzok and Page, who both served in important roles on the Russian collusion investigation into Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, show possible involvement by former President Barack Obama in the 2016 investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server. Trump called the texts “BOMBSHELLS” in all caps in a tweet.

Strzok was fired from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team in July after the Justice Department found partisan text messages with Page, his mistress at the time.
The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee released the 384-page document containing the text message exchange Wednesday.
