Watch Out! East Coast Tsunami Warning Turns Out To Be Error

The National Weather Service (NWS) accidentally sent out a tweet Tuesday morning telling East Coast residents to be on high alert for a tsunami set to hit their cities.

The tweet was sent out to all East Coast residents, warning them to brace themselves for the impending tidal waves.

The weather alert, however, turned out to be an error, and East Coast residents will not actually face sky-high waves that would likely decimate many of their cities.

“We are currently trying to find out how a message went out as a warning. We will update you when we find out more,” the NWS wrote, according to The Patch.

“The National Weather Service Tsunami Warning this morning was a TEST. No Tsunami warning is in effect for the East Coast of the U.S.” the NWS also tweeted Tuesday morning.
