House Democratic Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi wants to make it clear that Republicans are responsible for reaching across the aisle to work with Democrats to find a budget compromise.

“Let’s be very clear: the reason Congress is facing another stop-gap spending bill is because of @HouseGOP & @SenateGOP incompetence,” Pelosi said in a tweet Monday. “They must stop governing from manufactured crisis to crisis, & work with Dems to pass the many urgent priorities of the American people.”

Federal funding for the government runs out Thursday, which will become a shutdown if Congress does not pass a temporary measure to fund the government through March 23.

Democrats insist that the next funding bill needs to have protection for beneficiaries of former President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

The government shutdown for a weekend and one weekday in late January after the Senate failed to approve a House funding bill. Democrats voted against the measure and demanded a deal to address illegal immigrants that have been allowed to stay in the U.S., whose protected status expires March 5.

When the government shut down in 2013 after Republicans staled over funding Obamacare, Pelosi said Republicans were “legislative arsonists.”
