UCLA Student Gov Gives $100,000 To Illegal Alien Fund

The student government at the University of California, Los Angeles gave $100,000 to a fund for illegal alien students, according to a Wednesday report.
UCLA’s student government voted unanimously to give $100,000 of its surplus subsidies to the UCLA Undocumented Student Program, reported The College Fix.
“UCLA accounting services neglected to allocate $461,662 in funding from three years,” said the student government, describing the discovery of an accounting error that allowed it to make the contribution. “[We] can now use $149,770 of the surplus, which is the amount that should have been allocated to student group funds in previous years….Following lobbying by undocumented student groups, the council unanimously voted Tuesday to allocate $100,000 of the surplus funds to the UCLA Undocumented Student Program, which provides resources for undocumented students on campus.”
Dozens of professors and more than 1,000 students petitioned the school to brand itself a sanctuary campus in March 2017.
“UCLA has a unique opportunity to be a national leader in efforts to defend and support undocumented students,” said a letter to the editor of Daily Bruin, the UCLA student paper. “As students, we have put our money where our mouths are. The UCLA administration should do the same and help us institutionalize these efforts moving forward.”
The school’s student government banned use of the term “illegal immigrant” in 2013, deeming it “racially derogatory.”
