A rogue elephant snuck across the border of China into Laos while guards stood nearby, according to a video posted Monday.
A video captured a wild elephant managing to skirt past Chinese border guards into Laos Saturday, reported the Daily Mail. The elephant stayed in Laos for about two hours before returning back to China.
“We were afraid the elephant would pose danger to nearby residents, so we send our workers to follow the elephants in the dark,” Zhou Xiaofei, one of the guards on patrol, told Xinhua News Agency. Xiaofei added that the elephant posed no great threats to residents nor villages in Laos.
