WATCH: Tough Granny Takes Down Man Trying To Steal Her Purse

A tough as nails New York grandmother took down a man attempting to steal her purse Friday, and the whole exchange was captured on video.
Erunna Walowit, 80, bravely defended herself from a robber who attempted to steal her purse, reported the New York Post. The elderly woman refused to give up her bag, and as she ran away, she knocked down her assailant and dragged him through the hallway of an Upper East Side building.
Walowit held on to her purse with a fierce grip and screamed so loudly that the robber and his friend rushed away terrified. Neighbors described the elderly woman as “spunky.”
“Good for her for fighting them off,” said onlooker Juhi Patel.

Walowit is not the only elderly woman who courageously stood her ground. Gina Zuckerman, a 91-year-old holocaust survivor, bravely fought off a female robber who tried to take her purse in 2016, according to the NY Post.
The same thieves are wanted for robbing a 23-year-old woman Dec. 15.
