More than 150 people were evacuated after two planes hit each other Friday, sparking a fire on the tarmac at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.

Passengers were forced to evacuate after two planes collided, the WestJet inbound from Cancun, Mexico, was struck by a Sunwing airplane, causing a fire on the tarmac Friday night, reported The Guardian. The 168 passengers and crew of six were then evacuated with emergency slides, according to spokeswoman Lauren Stewart for WestJet. The Sunwing aircraft did not have any passengers, it was being towed by the airline during the crash.

“Due to the position of the aircraft on the laneway, WestJet guests required evacuation via emergency slide. Emergency crews were on hand and responded immediately,” said Westjet in a statement.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze after the passengers were quickly evacuated, said the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, reported The Toronto Star.
