A liberal editor who bashed the GOP just got fired for alleged sexual harassment, according to a Friday report.
Stephen Henderson, the managing director of opinion and commentary at The Detroit Free Press and a Pulitzer Prize Winner, was fired for alleged sexual misconduct, the outlet reported. Henderson is accused of sexual harassment to women over the years following the results of an internal investigation.
“This is a devastatingly sad day for us at the Free Press. Stephen is a magnificent journalist and a treasured colleague who has done so much for Detroit,” said Free Press editor and Vice President Peter Bhatia. Henderson won a Pulitzer Price in 2014.
One day prior to Henderson’s termination, he wrote an op-ed for the Free Press, bashing the GOP and saying, “The party is willing to indulge just about any repugnant point of view in a candidate or public official – racism, religious discrimination, disrespect for the Constitution – in order to achieve its political aims.”
No further details on the types of abuse were given, due to protecting the privacy of the accusers.
