PBS suspended late night talk show host Tavis Smiley on Wednesday, after an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct.
The network indefinitely suspended Smiley after “multiple, credible allegations of conduct that is inconsistent with the values and standards of PBS” were uncovered, Variety reports.
The outside law firm of MSK led the investigation and took statements from both men and women, most of whom were former staffers. They claim to have found evidence Smiley had sexual relations with several underlings and tied their job security to sexual performance, according to Variety. Smiley has been with PBS since 2004.
This is the second PBS host in as many months to be accused of sexual misconduct. The network cut ties with longtime host Charlie Rose in November over allegations he sexually harassed several women. Rose never directly addressed the controversy but did issue an apology for his inappropriate behavior.
