Airport Forced To Take Down Christmas Tree Made Out Of Literal Garbage

Public outcry caused Lebanon’s sole airport to take down its Christmas tree Tuesday, one made out of recycled garbage that was intended to promote environmentalism but only angered patrons.
The Lebanese Middle East Airlines’ project to promote environmental conservation backfired when it was forced to take down the “garbage tree,” which was constructed from recyclable materials in the Rafic Hariri airport lounge, reported The New Arab. Airport travelers were furious at the monstrous display, and took to Twitter to express indignation.

“The tree is decorated with metal parts and aircraft parts. The aim is to support the environment,” the airline wrote in a statement. The company also reportedly wanted to raise awareness to prevent logging and promote recycling.
