A 72-year-old woman shocked neighbors when she single handedly killed 11 venomous copperhead snakes found under her house.
The Oklahoma resident, identified only as “Mrs. Newby,” used a shotgun, shovel and rake to get rid of 11 deadly snakes that her neighbor, Susan Thompson, discovered at her home, ABC7 reported.
Thompson reported the incident on Facebook, saying,”Mrs Newby killed 11 copperheads last night at her house! She’s a snake killer if you need help call her! She is 72 years old!”
One Facebook user by the name of Alyse Easdale commented, “Killing snakes doesn’t make her a strong woman; having respect for wildlife & the role they serve in the ecosystem is what would make her ‘strong.’ She needs to have a professional come out & take care of the root of the problem so that she can stop her senseless & unnecessary slaughtering of these animals – all they are doing is looking for food & shelter.”
Newby’s family boasted that she previously killed a western diamondback rattlesnake measuring at nearly six feet long, NewsOn6 reported.
