A photo circulating the internet shows a Klu Klux Klan member rocking dreadlocks at Klan rally in Charlottesville, Va. over the weekend.
The KKK member wore a hairstyle that is predominantly associated with the black community. The man participated in a protest to try to prevent the city from removing a Confederate statue of Robert E.Lee.
My shot of the #KKK dude w/the #dreads. Truly an odd style choice for a #whitesupremacist. (&yes that IS a nazi salute) #CharlottesvilleKKK pic.twitter.com/5SRTSBlvQ7

University of Virginia graduate DeVanté Cunningham, a counter protester, took a photo of the man, which quickly made its rounds on Twitter.

“We really couldn’t believe we had just seen a Klansman with dreads. We’re looking at the KKK here, and dreadlocks are basically a symbol of African culture,” Cunningham said. “It was really weird to see.”
