President Donald Trump’s lawyer Jay Sekulow said Wednesday that Donald Trump Jr.’s actions were fully legal when he communicated with a Russian attorney during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Sekulow assured ABC’s “Good Morning America” that Trump Jr.’s meeting in June 2016 with Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian attorney, did not violate any laws. Sekulow said this was not the first time something like this happened, mentioning that former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s campaign received information from the Ukrainian government.

Sekulow said that he has not yet had a conversation with Trump on whether or not the meeting was appropriate, but doubled down on insisting that the meeting was definitely not illegal. (RELATED: Lawyer: Trump Is Not Under Investigation [VIDEO])
