Coaches Fired After HS Lacrosse Team Spends Week At Disney World CRUSHING Booze

Some wealthy high school lacrosse players spent a week at Disney World, crushing alcohol and throwing late-night beach parties.

What was supposed to be a training trip for lacrosse players at Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn, turned out like a spring break trip out of a movie. While their coaches were sleeping, roughly half the team — 15 players — would sneak out of their hotel rooms and take an Uber to a nearby liquor store to acquire copious amounts of beer and liquor, The New York Post reports.

After getting their hands on the booze, the athletes would set up shop on a nearby artificial beach at the resort to let loose. These young men were not about to drink alone, so they invited other high school students from the area and even sold them some booze.

What baffled school authorities, who promptly fired the entire team’s coaching staff and temporarily suspended its season, is that the athletes kept up their antics for six consecutive evenings, after playing lacrosse for hours each day.

Poly Prep costs up to $43,650 a year to attend.

The incident with the lacrosse team is the not the only scandal to plague the school in recent years. A group of former students filed suit against the school in 2009, alleging that its former head football coach sexually abused them. The allegations spanned nearly three-decades, from the mid-1960s to 1991.
