Pentagon Drops Footage Of Massive Strike On ISIS In Afghanistan

The Pentagon has released footage of the U.S. dropping the “mother of all bombs” on the Islamic State in Afghanistan Thursday.

Official video shows the sudden blast envelop a mountain valley in the Nangarhar province, where the terror group was making use of a network of tunnels and caves. Pentagon officials said the blast left 36 ISIS fighters dead, and said every precaution was taken to avoid civilian casualties.

WATCH: 

The massive bomb is about 30 feet long and weighs about 20,000 pounds. The mission marks the first time the bomb has been used in combat.
