Media personalities jumped at the chance to agree with the Islamic State when the terrorist group called President Donald Trump an “idiot” Tuesday.
ISIS released a recording referring to Trump for the first time since he became president, calling him an “idiot,” and journalists and writers quickly agreed with the assessment on Twitter.
“There is no more evidence than the fact that you are being run by an idiot who does not know what Syria or Iraq or Islam is,” an ISIS spokesman said in the recording.
Here are the tweets from media types apparently eager to cite ISIS in an attempt to criticize Trump.

Mother Jones’ senior editor, Ben Dreyfuss, also agreed with ISIS. “OK, look this may be true but back off ISIS,” he tweeted.

“ISIS thinks our leader is an idiot?” Kevin Baron, the executive editor of Defense One, tweeted. “Only WE are allowed to talk about our politicians like that! // Harrumphing.”
A Buzzfeed writer chimed in as well while a film composer sarcastically congratulated Trump for being recognized as an idiot.
