Biden Calls On Trump To Continue ‘Cancer Moonshot’ Initiative

Outgoing Vice President Joe Biden said Monday he prays President-elect Donald Trump will continue the “Cancer Moonshot” initiative during a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Biden — who lost his son, Beau Biden, to brain cancer in 2015 — was appointed by President Barack Obama to lead the efforts to cure cancer in March, 2016.
His efforts to promote cancer research are praised by both Democrats and Republicans alike.
“This is the one bipartisan thing that exists and I pray will continue to exist in the new administration,” he told the events attendees, The Daily Mail reports.
Biden noted he has already discussed continuing his work with Vice President-elect Mike Pence.
“I have already spoken to the vice president elect, who is a good man … about my willingness to continue to work with him and the incoming administration, to be committed and enthusiastic as we are in our goal in ending cancer as we know it,” he continued. “Our prayer is that they will do that as well.”
