Trump On Dakota Access Pipeline: ‘We’ll Have It Solved Very Quickly’

President-elect Donald Trump promised to move quickly on “solving” the Dakota Access Pipeline.

Trump appeared on “Fox News Sunday” with Chris Wallace, where he said, “I will tell you, when I get to office, if it’s not solved, I’ll have it solved very quickly.”

The Obama administration effectively killed the Dakota Access Pipeline when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers did not grant the company building the easement needed to cross the Missouri River permission. (RELATED: Obama Admin Blocks Dakota Access Pipeline Months After Approving It)

The Corps would not approve the easement, based on the need to “explore alternate routes” for the pipeline. It’s a stunning reversal from July 2016, when the Corps approved the easement for the project.

The $3.8 billion, 1,172-mile pipeline has been the subject of a controversial fight, when American Indians and environmentalists converged on the project’s construction site near the Standing Rock Sioux reservation in North Dakota.

The president-elect also discussed the Environmental Protection Agency and his decision to select Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to head it. (RELATED: Dems Already Plotting To Block Trump’s EPA Pick)
