San Francisco Teachers Union Releases Anti-Trump Lesson Plan

San Francisco’s public schools have been offered a lesson plan that characterizes President-elect Donald Trump as a “racist, sexist” man.
The United Educators of San Francisco, which represents 6,000 San Francisco public school teachers, released a lesson plan asserting that “his election has made all of us less safe in our lives.”
“Let us please not sidestep the fact that a racist and sexist man has become the president of our country by pandering to a huge racist and sexist base,” the lesson plan asserts.
The plan instructs teachers to create two posters, one of which asks the question, “If you could talk to Trump supporters, what would you say/ask?” The plan calls for teachers to preface this question with a conversation of how “we will not engage in dehumanizing those who dehumanize us.”
The union instructs teachers to host classroom conversations to discuss “what has happened.” The plan dictates teachers to validate their students’ feelings, regardless of what those feeling may be. “Let the students speak one at a time. PLEASE VALIDATE STUDENTS FEELINGS.”
The plan instructs teachers not to tell them that “we have LOST and that we have to accept this.”
The Republican Party of San Francisco responded to the lesson plan, calling it “inappropriate on every level.”
The plan is “inappropriate propaganda that unfairly demonizes not only the campaign that Donald Trump, the winner, ran, but also all of the people who voted for him,” Harmeet Dhillon, an Republican National Committee committeewoman from California said.
San Francisco overwhelming supported former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton for president; she received 84 percent support in the City by the Bay.
