Clinton: GOP Supporters Have Never Supported A Dem

Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton bragged over Republican supporters Thursday, people who supposedly “never” supported a Democrat.
“These Republicans who came out in support of me are people who never supported a Democrat before in their life,” Clinton told reporters Thursday. “These people put their name in the line in support of me because they cannot support Trump.” Clinton’s claims are inaccurate. The Republicans mentioned donated and supported Democrats in the past.
In one such instance, founder of the Republicans For Hillary PAC Craig Snyder donated to the Clintons long before he even started the PAC, according to Open Secrets. The PAC was launched in June ahead of the Republican National Convention to rope “Never Trump” voters.
Clinton also touted support from former Republican Sen. Larry Pressler. Pressler served on President George W. Bush’s Steering Committee, but donates to Democratic Senate and presidential campaigns.
Perhaps Clinton was referring to former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who was rumored to be contemplating a formal endorsement of the Democratic nominee, but an endorsement has yet to be made as of press time.
Clinton may be gaining ground with moderate Republicans, but Clinton’s support among registered Democrats fell to 80.7 percent in a poll published Tuesday, and only earned 5.7 percent of Republican voters.
Fifty-two percent of those who say they will vote for the Democratic nominee also reported they will vote Republican in every other race down the ticket in a recent poll.
