The accident was caught by one of the officers’ body-cam.

Following the crash, the driver immediately got out of the car and bemoaned, “That’s what I get for playing this dumb ass game.”

“This could have easily been somebody crossing the street and struck by the vehicle. There could have been somebody inside that vehicle, but fortunately, there wasn’t,” said T.J. Smith, chief of Media Relations for Baltimore police, according to an NBC news affiliate.

The three officers who witnessed the crash and the two passengers in the SUV were left unharmed.

“This is serious stuff,” Smith explained. “It’s a game, but not when you are in a 2,000-pound vehicle driving down a roadway. It’s a game but if you’re walking and not paying attention, somebody can rob you and it can go bad. We don’t want that and we want people to pay attention.”

The authorities also hope that they pay attention to their newest public service announcement, which uses the body-cam footage of the crash to spread awareness of the dangers of distracted driving.
