The Trump Administration released four ads Thursday highlighting the lengths opioid addicts go to to get their fix.

The ads tell the various stories of how users got addicted followed by graphic images of addicts planning to hurt themselves to get prescriptions.

“I didn’t know how far I’d go to get more,” each ad says before showing the person taking a dramatic action to hurt themselves.

The ads debuted on “The Today Show” on Thursday morning. Each ad features a real story, portrayed by actors, of opioid addiction.

“The stories you will see in these ads sadly are not unique. Each one is an example of similar stories playing out all across this country,” Jim Carroll, the acting director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, told the Washington Free Beacon.

The goal of the ads is to prevent opioid abuse in young adults, specifically targeted to those ages 18 to 21 with a halo audience of ages 15-34. Opioid abuse is a significant issue among young adults, with 7.3 percent of Americans age 18 to 25 misusing opioids.

The Trump administration worked with the Ad Council and the Truth Campaign to create the ad campaign.
