President Donald Trump retweeted more than 100 Republican senators less than a day after Sen. Lisa Murkowski publicly broke with him over his handling of protests in Washington, D.C., after the death of George Floyd.

He highlighted the senators’ recent accomplishments, including the Paycheck Protection Program and media appearances calling for “law and order.”

A few of the lawmakers he included are facing competitive races in states that could decide which party wins the presidency and the Senate.

While Republican Arizona Sen. Martha McSally has maintained support from the president and the Republican base, she has begun to trail behind her Democratic challenger in polls.

The same can be said for Republican Sens. Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Cory Gardner of Colorado, both of whom are polling neck-and-neck, according to averages from RealClearPolitics and FiveThirtyEight.

An increasing amount of Republican senators have aligned themselves with the president, who holds an approval rating of around 90% among members of his party, according to Gallup.
