Police evacuated the stadium before the international friendly Tuesday between Germany and The Netherlands due to a terror threat.

Fans had to leave the stadium in Hannover, Germany an hour before kick off after “a suspicious object” was found at the stadium, Deutsche Welle reports.

It was later revealed that an ambulance outside the stadium was filled with explosives and authorities believe the plan was to detonate it inside.

Police told attendees to “not stand still” and “move away from the stadium.”

German Chancellor Angela Merkel was scheduled to attend the match to show solidarity with France. Germany’s match against France Friday was one of the intended targets during the attacks that killed 129 people. One of the terrorists was denied entry to the stadium and decided to detonate his suicide vest outside the stadium, killing himself and one civilian.

The match between Belgium and Spain was also cancelled after fears of attacks.
